Available Roles
At APF Activity Camps, we offer various roles, each with specific responsibilities and requirements:

Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the effective operation of daycare programmes, ensuring children's safety and well-being.
  • Supervise, encourage, and assist staff in delivering enjoyable and engaging activities.
  • Communicate with parents, staff, and head office to ensure effective implementation of all rules and procedures.
  • Maintain up-to-date paperwork and ensure compliance with APF Activity Codes of Practice.
  • Sign children in and out using clear guidelines.
  • Ensure the site and activity spaces remain clean, safe, and organised at all times.
  • Implement Health and Safety and safeguarding policies to guarantee a secure environment.
  • Provide daily/weekly updates and maintain communication with the Central Office and Area Managers.
  • Monitor staff to ensure they deliver safe and enjoyable activities for children.
  • Manage essential camp operations, including site inspections, staff coordination, equipment checks, financial documentation, stock control, and parent communication.
  • Plan and conduct staff meetings to ensure effective communication and teamwork.
  • Support staff by providing them with breaks when necessary and ensuring they feel supported in their roles.
  • Act as a role model by delivering outstanding instruction to children (you may also have your own group of children).

 

Requirements:
  • Proven experience in managing or supervising children’s activity programmes, holiday camps, or similar settings.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and support staff.
  • Excellent communication skills for liaising with parents, staff, and senior management.
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety, safeguarding policies, and best practices in childcare settings.
  • Organisational skills to manage schedules, compliance paperwork, and operational tasks efficiently.
  • Ability to handle challenging situations calmly and professionally.
  • First Aid qualification (or willingness to obtain one).
  • A valid DBS check (or willingness to undergo one before employment).
  • Flexibility and adaptability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
    • Deliver structured and fun sessions in sports such as Football, Rugby, Basketball, Hockey, Badminton, and Tennis.
    • Lead EXTREME ACTIVITIES (training provided).
    • Provide safety instructions and ensure compliance.
    • Supervise children throughout the day, including breaks and lunch.
    • Complete necessary paperwork, including registers.
    • Encourage maximum participation from children.

 

Requirements:
    • Relevant sports coaching qualification or certified teacher status.
    • Experience coaching one or multiple sports to children.
    • At least 18 years old at contract start.
    • Eligible to work in the UK.
    • Provide credible academic and professional references.
    • Possess good communication skills, enthusiasm, compassion, organisation, and initiative.
    • Adaptable to challenges in a childcare environment.
    • Hold or be willing to obtain an enhanced DBS check.
    • Complete annual online safeguarding training and optional SEND training.
    • Attend a 2-hour online Induction Training prior to the start of the first working season.
Responsibilities:
    • Set up and lead engaging, age-appropriate activities, including sports and arts and crafts.
    • Lead arts, sports and crafts and EXTREME ACTIVITIES such as inflatables, Archery Tag, Archery, Splat Ball, Sumo Wrestling, and Electric Go-Karts (training provided).
    • Provide safety instructions and ensure compliance.
    • Supervise children throughout the day, including breaks and lunch.
    • Complete necessary paperwork, including registers.
    • Encourage maximum participation from children.
 
Requirements:
    • Experience or qualifications in working with children in sport, art, childcare, or teaching.
    • At least 18 years old at contract start.
    • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
    • Good knowledge of camp activities.
    • Ability to make informed decisions and adapt as needed.
    • Pursuing or holding an appropriate childcare certification.
    • Eligible to work in the UK.
    • Provide credible academic and professional references.
    • Possess good communication skills, enthusiasm, compassion, organisation, and initiative.
    • Adaptable to challenges in a childcare environment.
    • Hold or be willing to obtain an enhanced DBS check.
    • Complete annual online safeguarding training and optional SEND training.
    • Attend a 2-hour online Induction Training prior to the start of the first working season.
Responsibilities:
      • Plan and deliver fun, engaging dance sessions tailored to various age groups and skill levels.
      • Teach a variety of dance styles (e.g., hip-hop, ballet, contemporary) in a safe and inclusive environment.
      • Choreograph routines for children to perform at the end of the camp.
      • Encourage creativity, confidence, and teamwork among participants.
      • Supervise and ensure the safety of children during all activities.

 

Requirements:
          • Aged 18+ with experience in dance instruction or coaching.
          • Strong knowledge of different dance styles and teaching techniques.
          • Enthusiastic, patient, and able to engage children of all abilities.
          • Hold or be willing to obtain an enhanced DBS check.
          • Relevant dance coaching or teaching qualifications are preferred.
Responsibilities:
  • Organise and oversee fun, active sports and games during lunchtime sessions.
  • Ensure all children are engaged in safe and inclusive activities.
  • Maintain a positive and supportive environment to encourage participation and teamwork.
  • Monitor children during their lunch break, ensuring safety and good behaviour.
  • Address any concerns or incidents promptly and effectively.

 

Requirements:
  • Aged 17+ with experience in childcare, coaching, or supervision.
  • Passionate about sports and encouraging active lifestyles.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Able to manage groups of children effectively and calmly.
  • Hold or be willing to obtain an enhanced DBS check.
Responsibilities:
      • Plan and deliver engaging sports, games, and creative activities during breakfast and after-school sessions.
      • Ensure children are supervised, safe, and actively participating.
      • Provide a welcoming and energetic environment for children at the start and end of their day.
      • Encourage social interaction and teamwork through structured activities.
      • Communicate effectively with parents and guardians during drop-off and pick-up.

 

Requirements:
      • Experience in sports coaching, childcare, or teaching.
      • Aged 17+ at the contract start date.
      • Strong organisational and communication skills.
      • Enthusiastic, reliable, and able to create a fun atmosphere.
      • Hold or be willing to obtain an enhanced DBS check.
Responsibilities:
    • Support the Early Years Manager in delivering engaging, age-appropriate activities for children aged 3–5 years.
    • Assist in creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for young children.
    • Help implement activities aligned with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
    • Supervise children during activities, play, and mealtimes, ensuring their safety and well-being.
    • Build positive relationships with children and their parents or guardians.
    • Assist with daily routines, including setting up and tidying activities and maintaining a clean and safe environment.
Requirements:
    • Level 2 childcare qualification or equivalent (preferred but not essential).
    • Experience working with young children in a childcare or educational setting.
    • Enthusiastic, caring, and passionate about early childhood development.
    • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
    • Hold or be willing to obtain an enhanced DBS check.
Responsibilities:
    • Oversee and lead the Early Years provision for children aged 3–5 years.
    • Plan and deliver age-appropriate activities, ensuring alignment with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
    • Supervise Early Years staff, providing guidance and support to maintain high-quality care and education.
    • Ensure a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for young children.
    • Communicate effectively with parents about their child’s experience, progress, and welfare.
    • Monitor and maintain compliance with safeguarding, health, and safety policies.
Requirements:
    • Level 3 qualification in Early Years Education or equivalent.
    • Proven experience working with children aged 3–5 years in a childcare or education setting.
    • Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills.
    • Knowledge of the EYFS framework and its implementation.
    • Passionate about early childhood development and learning.
    • Hold or be willing to obtain an enhanced DBS check.
Responsibilities:
    • Support Instructors and the Camp Manager in delivering activities.
    • Lead small group sports or arts and crafts sessions.
    • Ensure children are engaged and participating.
    • Oversee the welfare of all children.
    • Assist children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
Requirements:
    • Eligible to work in the UK.
    • At least 17 years old at contract start.
    • Provide credible academic and professional references.
    • Possess good communication skills, enthusiasm, compassion, organisation, and initiative.
    • Adaptable to challenges in a childcare environment.
    • Hold or be willing to obtain an enhanced DBS check.
Qualifications:
  • A passion for working with children and a positive attitude.
  • Ideal for students, school leavers, or anyone looking to gain experience.
  • Must be aged 16+
Responsibilities:
  • Support camp staff in delivering activities and supervising children.
  • Gain hands-on experience in childcare, education, or sports coaching.
  • Learn essential skills in teamwork, organisation, and leadership.
