EARLY YEARS MANAGER

​

The Ealry Years Manager is responsible for the successful delivery of our multi-activity holiday childcare programmes, whilst ensuring the welfare and safety of the children on Camp is maintained at all times. For smaller camps, this will involve managing a particular site and for larger camps this will be managing the Early Years area/room and directly supporting the EYPs. 

You will be responsible for managing, motivating and supporting your staff team in order to create fun and exciting holiday camps which promote participation, structure, care and development. You will ensure successful execution of all policies and procedures, liaising with parents, site representatives and Head Office. As well as leading sessions, staff will contribute to the high standard of physical, emotional, and social care offered.

You will have a pastoral role, being the key contact for the 4 and 5 year olds (and on occasions 6-7 year olds) on camp, taking a lead in maintaining their welfare and providing high-quality care. You will be an excellent communicator, with confident face to face customer service skills.

DUTIES 

​

•  In charge of making sure the Early Years Foundation Stage is put into practice

• Above all, ensure that all children are having fun and are kept safe 

• The camp's primary OFSTED Inspector contact

• Finish all Early Years child management responsibilities, including staff supervision, parent correspondence, and administrative work.

• Manage the day-to-day duties such financial records, equipment inspections, and site visits.

• .Communicate with Head office, regional manager on a regular basis. 

• Conduct observations with Early Years personnel to observe social interactions and get to know the kids.

• Keep paperwork up to date and high-risk tasks in compliance with APF Activity Codes of Practice. This includes responding immediately to  any areas for development outlined during monitoring visits. 

• Sign children in and out using our clear guidelines 

• Ensure that all children are supervised at all times by staff 

• Ensure that the site and spaces used are clean and tidy at all times 

• Implement Health and Safety and safeguarding policies to guarantee a secure atmosphere

• Monitor staff to ensure that they are providing safe and enjoyable activities for children in their group 

• Complete everyday duties to guarantee camp operates effectively, such as site inspections, staff team management, equipment inspections, financial documentation, stock control, and parent communication

• Plan staff meetings to guarantee that the team communicates and works well with each other 

• Role model outstanding instruction of children (you may also have your own group of children)

REQUIREMENTS:

• Training Day; for more information, refer to the contract letter.Attend the required Senior

• Have early childhood education qualifications (BA Primary Education, CACHE L3, Primary PGCE, Primary qualified).

• Possess experience in the early years

• Be able to get employment in the UK

• Enhanced DBS check, or use the Update Service to already have an enhanced DBS.

• Offer credible references

• Be available for the day of induction training and for at least one day of setup to set up the basic rooms for the early years (these will take place seven days before camp opens).

• Completing pertinent yearly online training

• Approved enhanced DBS check, or use the Update Service.

• Complete yearly online safeguarding training and optional SEND training 

• Attend the online 2-hour Induction Training prior to the start of your first working season (this will probably happen within seven days leading up to the opening of your camp).

• Be willing to attend a site set-up (half day) in the lead up to camp opening so that your are familiar with the site and key procedures.
