The goal of our Outreach Program is to improve the quality of life for children and families in the community, by offering a time of laughter, creativity, hope, friendship, and encouragement to children whose lives are disrupted and fractured by personal circumstances.
With the current state of the pandemic, Outreach is currently updating its programs and is planning to extend beyond our traditional camps of Sport, Arts, Cookery and Multi-Active. We are anxiously awaiting our launch to in-person programming beginning in the summer of 2022.
APF is inviting families, young adults and teenagers to attend camp for a week to develop emotional well-being, self esteem, and character building. This new and trailered 5-day program expands upon skills and personal growth from our General Camp, by encouraging participants to trust their peers and practicing in team-work. As participants complete these adventures, they feel the strength of their physical accomplishments and support of trusting bonds of friendship, that often last lifetime.
This camp is specifically geared toward helping community members build self-confidence and coping skills. A Community Outreach Educator works with our campers in small groups, encouraging each participant to believe in him/herself and abilities. Once the campers complete the program, they radiate confidence and look forward to embracing new challenges.
